Mr. Strange graduated from Piedmont College in 1961 with a bachelor’s degree. In 1972, he was elected as a Habersham County Commissioner and served in that position for two terms. He served on several boards and committees, North Georgia Trade School Board, Habersham County Medical Center Board, Federal Affairs Committee, and the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Committee. Mr. Strange was an ordained deacon and member of Level Grove Baptist Church. He was licensed in the real estate business for 25 years in which he built over 100 single-family homes. He taught the Adult Sunday School Class for over 25 years and wrote a book on the Bible entitled: The Mysteries of the Revelation of Jesus Christ Simplified.

In addition to his parents and spouse, he was preceded in death by twin sons, Keith & Kent Strange, son, Michael Strange; brother, Jewell Strange; and sister, Dorothy Strange.
